Nola for Life Volunteer Day

Nola for Life Volunteer Day

The second NOLA FOR LIFE Volunteer Day will be Saturday, November 10, 2012, from 9 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at East Shore Playground in the Little Woods Neighborhood. East Shore Playground is located at 14600 Curran Blvd. in the Little Woods Neighborhood.

Volunteer activities will include improvements to the park and neighborhood beautification along the surrounding streets within the designated borders. Volunteers are advised to dress for the weather and to wear close-toed shoes. Supplies will be provided, as will refreshments.

“As part of our NOLA FOR LIFE comprehensive murder reduction strategy, we’re asking residents to get engaged and get involved, because we cannot end this cycle of violence alone,” said Mayor Mitch Landrieu. “The Volunteer Day takes the fight to the street by going into some of the city’s most challenging areas to fight the blight that degrades the quality of life and threatens public safety. Together, we will pick up trash and debris, paint, and make other improvements that can make a real difference in our neighborhoods.”

All local residents are invited to participate in this effort.
