Job of the Day – Events Manager, Arts Council of New Orleans
The Arts Council of New Orleans seeks a full time Events Manager to oversee the monthly Arts Market of New Orleans at Palmer Park as well as provide logistical and production assistance for Arts Council exhibits and fundraising events. Ideal candidate will have a background in arts administration and/or event planning. Responsibilities include artist/client management, event production and promotion. Events Manager will lead on-site setup/breakdown of monthly Arts Market that may require heavy lifting or transporting of artwork/production equipment. Salary commensurate with experience plus benefits including paid vacation, sick leave and health insurance. Qualifications:A strong background in arts administration and/or event planning with a full understanding of multiple mediums and the level of craftsmanship/expertise desired for display and sale in the Arts Market of New Orleans. Ideal Candidate must be able to work in a team atmosphere of planning and facilitating for successful outcome within the Arts Council's mission of service to the regional arts community.
Responsibilities: Work in collaboration with Arts Council President and others including the Arts Business, Public Art, Development and Marketing/PR staff in planning and coordinating events and processes that contribute to the organizational mission and improve workflow and revenue. Manage the Arts Market of New Orleans, a monthly event featuring over 100 artists and food vendors with live entertainment and children's activities, which has been, and is intended to continue to be a revenue producing program.
